The Museum of Satire and Caricature was inspired by the Political Satire Awards, which were organised by the “Citta Forte dei Marmi” foundation in 1973. Based inside the fort, the museum collects and preserves historical and contemporary satirical cartoons. The museum also houses a library with over 2500 books, an auditorium, satirical texts from the 18th and 19th centuries, and a multimedia archive.
